We build ZF 8HP and Ford 10R80 and GM 10L80 transmissions the same way every time: machined clearances, upgraded clutch packs and valve bodies, and every unit backed by the shop that built it. Street cars get a gearbox that shifts like it means it. Race cars get one that comes back for more.

How do I know which transmission my car has?
Use the selector at the top of this page — year, make and model. If your car left the factory with more than one gearbox, it will tell you that instead of guessing, and you can confirm from the tag on the transmission case or by sending us your VIN.
Do you only work on ZF 8HP?
No. The ZF 8HP is most of what we do — 8HP45 through 8HP95 and the ZF Powerline — but we also cover the Ford 10R80, GM 10L80, Mercedes NAG1 and the JR913E / 9G-Tronic.
Should I buy a kit or send you my transmission?
If you have the tools, the space and the patience, a DIY kit gets you the same parts for less money. If you would rather it arrive ready to bolt in, a built transmission comes assembled in house and backed by the shop. Drop your unit off at the shop or add round-trip shipping when you order.
How long does a build take?
Usually about two weeks for the build itself. Drop your unit off at the shop — call us to schedule — or add round-trip shipping when you order.
What does a built transmission cost?
Starts at $5,300 for drop-off at the shop — the final number depends on the transmission family and the stage. Round-trip shipping is added separately when you order.
